Ötztal & hiking: the most successful combination of your adventurous summer holiday.

Hiking and mountaineering in Ötztal means to climb - or at least marvel at - 250 peaks higher than three thousand meters.

Ötztal is synonymous with walking, hiking and mountaineering. Here even less experienced hikers are caught by the mountain fever as there are more than 1600 kilometers of signposted trails for all ages and preferences spread over the valley famous for its myriad three thousand meter high summits. There is something for everyone: from Ötztal's water strider trails on the valley floor you head uphill towards the tree line into a world of Alpine rock and stone. If you want to climb higher you should conquer the bizarre world of glaciers. 250 peaks beyond three thousand meters offer real challenges in Ötztal. Hike Tirol's highest mountain - Wildspitze peak towering at 3678 meters above all other mountains within the region.

Choose from adventurous and eventful introductory hikes to garnet searching tours or a fabulous glacier breakfast at sunrise - our hiking guide Monika will take you to the valley's most beautiful spots.

The walking & activity program guided by Monika includes the following:

  • Welcome evening with schnapps
  • Introductory hikes with tips and explanations about your holiday region
  • Alpine hikes from hut to hut
  • Treasure hunting - we are looking for garnets (gems)
  • Lake hiking tour
  • Breakfast at sunrise on the glacier followed by a hike to Vent

Our hiking program takes place from Monday to Friday, varies weekly and is completely free of charge for our guests (except for glacier transfer costs). Program subject to change in case of inclement weather conditions.
